Martin Luther King Jr.
Martin Luther King Jr. was actually born Michael but later changed his name to Martin. Martin Luther King Jr. played a large role in the Civil Rights Movement. He supported and participated in non-violent protests that were to show the public that the black community had had enough with segregation. He was most inspired by Ghandi, who I'm sure influenced his non-violent ways of protest. MLK delivered his famous "I Have a Dream" speech at the March on Washington when thousands of both whites and blacks gathered to show a united protest against segregation. He was assassinated while standing on the balcony of his motel room.
